Description
Codonopsis pilosula, also known as Dangshen in Chinese, is a perennial dicotyledonous herbal plant in the Campanulaceae family. C. pilosula inhabits mountain forests and shrubs at an altitude of 1560-3100 meters from southwestern to northeastern China as well as North Korea, Mongolia, and far-east of the Russian Federation. The dried roots of C. pilosula has been widely used in the traditional Chinese medicine.
