Description

Coptis chinensis is a perennial herb that belongs to the family Ranunculaceae. For centuries, its dried rhizomes have been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for heat clearing, dampness drying, fire draining, and detoxification. The major active components in C. chinensis are benzylisoquinoline alkaloids.
