Description

Ulmus wallichiana, a native of Himalayas is a traditional medicinal plant, belonging to the family Ulmaceae, falls in vulnerable category according to IUCN red list. Most of the research has occurred on flavonoids isolated from Ulmus for osteoporosis and osteoclastogenesis properties. Bioactive compounds obtained from Ulmus are used for the treatment of post-menopausal Osteoprosis. It has antioxidant properties and potential to treat hypertension.
